The last illustration in my sermon today apparently caused a few people to wonder if what I said agreed with the teachings of Mormonism or New Age ideas about the role of people in the afterlife. Absolutely NOT!

Basically, what I said was this: that just as God put Adam & Eve in charge of Eden—even naming the animals for God—it was possible for glorified saints in heaven to assist God in developing other parts of the universe as other Eden’s.

That imaginary idea was simply meant to illustrate the unlimited possibilities of “our glorious inheritance in the saints” as “joint-heirs with Jesus.” My illustration is just fiction. Mormons, however, teach as doctrine what I spoke as an imaginary illustration. Mormons teach that after death they become gods who rules planets becasue they obey the God of the Bible also became God by His obedience to a higher set of gods. Thus, Mormons are true polytheists who recognize the existence and vaiidity of gods other than the God of the Bible!

Click here to see several statements about that by Brigham Young, the second false prophet of Mormonism.

I, however, believe that glorified Christians in heaven will like God in many supernatural, glorious ways but we saints will always be just glorified creatures totally submitted to God alone Who will always be God, the Creator.

Which one is real?
  • Every false religion or cult has some elements of truth in them that they distort–just as every counterfeit currency looks real to most people.
  • Mormons are really nice people. But Mormon’s are, unfortunately, heretics for several reasons. They use the same words we do about God but refine them in totally unbiblical, pagan ways. Here are a few:
    • Mormons are true polytheists. They believe in the existence of many true gods. Mormons believe that they will one day be gods just like the God of the Bible. Mormons teach that our God was once a man like us who became God by His obedience to other gods: “As man now is, God once was: As God now is, man may be.” A former President of the Mormon Church, Lorenzo Snow, said that he got that statement by revelation from God. He said Joseph Smith approved of it. Click here to see this documented on a Mormon site.
    • Joseph Smith, the founder of The Church of Latter-Day Saints made this crystal clear: “I will preach on the plurality of gods. I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see” . Click here to read the entire sermon of Joseph Smith.
    • The god of Mormons is an exalted man. Here’s Joseph Smith again:  “God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens.”
    • More on Mormon beliefs in this 1980 Newsweek article. I have studied the false teachings of Mormonism for decades. I feel compassion for people who have been so deceived by false prophets and teachers. Pray for them to know the real Father God and the real Jesus.

New Age spirituality is totally pagan. They believe they are the only true gods—all connected in a spiritual unity as false gods. It is just a rehash of pagan religions from the Far East. No real Christian should belong to New Age groups.

So, Christians, be comforted by the sure knowledge that you and God will have amazing adventures with God in heaven far beyond your wildest dreams!! And some of those adventures may include what God does in His vast universe. As Romans 8:18 declares: “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

No matter how terrible your life may be or become, no one can take that away from you! Be comforted!
